AID4SME marks 18-Month Review and welcomes Open Call 1 SMEs

30 June-2 July 2026 | Gent & Kortrijk

The AID4SME consortium convened in Ghent, Belgium, for the project’s 18-month Review Meeting, held from 30 June to 1 July 2026 at the premises of Ghent University. During the meeting, the consortium presented the progress and achievements of the first 18 months of the project to the Project Officer and two reviewers.

The review concluded with positive feedback, acknowledging the project’s progress and the consortium’s achievements to date. This encouraging outcome provides strong momentum for the next phase of the project, which will focus on advancing the Open Call 1 pilot projects while completing the selection process for the SMEs participating in Open Call 2.

On 2 July 2026, the SMEs selected through Open Call 1 were invited to Kortrijk for a dedicated networking and collaboration event. The meeting offered an excellent opportunity for the participating SMEs to connect with the project consortium and with one another, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Each SME delivered a 15-minute presentation introducing its innovative pilot project, followed by a guided tour of the laboratories in Kortrijk and engaging technical discussions with consortium partners.

The Open Call 1 pilot projects have now entered their development phase, which will continue until October 2026. This will be followed by comprehensive testing and assessment activities, scheduled to run through April 2027, marking another important step towards validating the project’s innovative AI-driven solutions for SMEs.
